Primary sources are often considered the first draft of history. Journals kept by individuals during the American Revolution have proven invaluable in showing how people were feeling during the event. Beyond that, however, we also have people hoping to define the war as it was happening. The pamphlets included here can be seen as a first attempt to define the war.
