Description
We love a crowd-sourced exhibition here at the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education, and so, when left with a two-month gap in our planned exhibition schedule for 2025-2026, we chose to take the opportunity to reach out to our staff, friends, University colleagues, and board members to inquire about some of their favorite items in our collections, and from that inquiry, to build a two-month “pop up” exhibit. And so, “Our Favorite Things,” came to life in January and February of 2025, largely organized by our newest staff member, Paul Fuller, our Coordinator of Digital Collections and Digital Initiatives, with able assistance by the OML staff and our wonderful preparator, Kevin Callahan.
This digital version of the exhibition includes some additional ways to think about and discover the items. When looking at each item take a moment to see who selected it and what keywords are associated with it. You can see what else that person selected or see other selections that are similar in either theme, subject, genre, and a whole host of other qualities.
Our Favorite Things was a pop-up exhibit at the Osher Map Library in early 2025. The exhibition includes dozens of submissions and ways to explore the collection.
